KYDS Enterprise Search Optimization Methodology: SEO, GEO & AEO

THE KYDS-TRI METHODOLOGY

One connected strategy.
Two discovery ecosystems.

SEO + GEO + AEO

Digital discoverability extends beyond traditional search rankings. KYDS combines SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to assess how businesses can be discovered through search engines and AI-powered answers.

Our methodology examines both traditional search visibility and observed AI visibility. We use professional analysis tools and structured testing to identify technical barriers, content gaps, and opportunities to make a business easier to find, understand, and cite.

KYDS TRI-System: search visibility, AEO, GEO, and technical SEO and entity clarity connect to one strategy. Assess, agree scope, implement, measure and refine.

The four-layer diagnostic framework

Four complementary views of visibility, coordinated around your business.

SEARCH VISIBILITY

Establish where you stand

Assess search rankings and result features across relevant locations, devices, and search engines. Establish a baseline for priority commercial and informational queries.

ANSWER ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

Understand how answers represent you

Test how selected AI assistants respond to representative customer questions. Record whether the business appears, how it is described, and whether supporting sources are linked.

GENERATIVE ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

Make expertise easier to interpret

Evaluate whether content clearly explains the business, its services, and its expertise. Review structure, factual clarity, and source attribution to support retrieval and interpretation by AI-powered search systems.

TECHNICAL SEO & ENTITY CLARITY

Strengthen the foundations

Review crawlability, rendered content, heading structure, canonical URLs, internal links, and appropriate structured data. Check that business identity and service information are consistent across relevant public sources.

Two discovery paths. Shared foundations.

Search indexing

Crawl → Index → Rank

Traditional search engines crawl and index pages, then rank results for a query.

AI retrieval & answers

Question → Retrieval → Answer

AI-powered systems may combine model knowledge with live search, retrieval, and other sources to construct answers. Their behavior varies by platform, model, settings, and access to current information.

One coordinated website and content strategy

KYDS evaluates the two discovery paths separately, while coordinating improvements to the underlying website and content.

Tool stack and execution scope

The tools and platforms used are selected for each engagement and recorded in the agreed audit scope.

Audit layer Tools and methods Outputs
Search results analysis DataForSEO SERP API and location- and device-specific queries for Google and Bing, where supported Dated ranking snapshots, regional comparisons, and search-result observations
AEO benchmarking Structured prompt testing across agreed AI platforms, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok Observed brand mentions, recommendations, citations, and answer accuracy
GEO evaluation Content analysis, semantic structure review, and citation checks across agreed AI search experiences Content clarity, retrieval-readiness, and attribution recommendations
Technical SEO Rendered-page crawlers, link analysis, and structured-data validation Prioritized technical findings and implementation recommendations

The diagnostic protocol

A clear path from baseline assessment to practical improvement.

BASELINE

Establish regional search baselines

Define priority queries, target markets, and devices. Markets may include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, depending on the engagement.

Capture location- and device-specific results to reduce uncontrolled variation. Record the query, location, device, and collection date. Compare mobile and desktop results to identify differences that warrant investigation.

BENCHMARK

Benchmark AI answer visibility

Develop a representative set of customer questions, including service discovery, comparisons, and purchase-intent queries. Run the agreed prompts on selected platforms and document the model or product, date, search availability, and relevant settings.

Assess whether answers mention the business, describe it accurately, and provide usable source links. Review whether website content offers concise, self-contained answers where appropriate.

EVALUATE

Evaluate generative search readiness

Measure brand mention or recommendation frequency within the defined test set. Where reported as Share of Model, the figure means the percentage of eligible tested responses containing the specified brand mention or recommendation, not market-wide visibility.

Review service descriptions, headings, and content sections for clear meaning and context. Check source links in generated answers and record whether they support the associated claims. Repeat testing where appropriate to understand variability.

STRENGTHEN

Strengthen technical foundations and business identity

Resolve technical barriers identified during the audit. Improve heading structure, canonical consistency, internal linking, and access to important content.

Where appropriate, implement accurate Organization, LocalBusiness, or ProfessionalService structured data that reflects visible page content. Structured data helps describe an entity.

Review relevant industry directories and business profiles for accurate, consistent information. Directory selection depends on the business and sector.

A repeatable improvement cycle

Assess → Agree scope → Implement → Measure → Refine

Findings become priorities. Priorities become actions. Comparable measurement informs the next iteration.

Reporting and measurement

Reports document the audit scope, queries, prompts, markets, platforms, collection dates, findings, and prioritized actions. Improvements are assessed against comparable baselines where possible.

Search rankings and AI-generated answers change over time. Results can vary by location, user context, model version, session, and retrieval settings.
